I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

You will work alongside the family’s existing Housekeeper/Nanny and long-standing Driver, helping with the smooth running of the household and occasionally supervising the children in the evenings; the children are aged 10, 12, and 14, so this is very much supervision rather than traditional babysitting.
The family also have a friendly Cavapoo, so you must be pet-friendly.
Travel Requirements
The family travel frequently, particularly during school holidays, and it is essential that the candidate is happy to travel with them to their home in the Hamptons, US, during July and August, as well as for approximately 1–2 weeks at other times of the year.
