About Maambo
Maambo is building a new way for people to get support. We believe that some of the most powerful conversations happen with someone who has genuinely been there. Our mentors aren't therapists or coaches. They are trained individuals with lived experience who offer compassionate, non-judgemental peer support through secure one-to-one video sessions. We are looking for exceptional people who want to help build a community where nobody has to struggle alone. This is more than a flexible role. The Role
As a Maambo Mentor, you'll provide one-to-one online peer support sessions to people facing life's challenges, including:
- Divorce and separation
- Loneliness
- Parenting
- Grief
- Burnout
- Career challenges
- Family conflict
- Chronic illness
- Life transitions
You'll be speaking to people who simply need someone who understands. Sessions take place via secure video call.

Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate one-to-one peer support sessions.
- Attend mentor training and supervision sessions.
- Participate in regular team meetings.
- Keep your availability up to date.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Complete brief session notes where required.
- Represent Maambo professionally and positively.
- Contribute ideas that help improve the mentor community and client experience.

Essential Requirements
- UK based.
- Comfortable using Zoom and online technology.
- Willing to undergo DBS and identity checks.
- Available for regular client sessions.
- Able to commit to ongoing training and supervision.
