About the Role
Passionate about quality livestock and building strong relationships with farmers? Join a fast-paced, dynamic business where you'll make a real impact and no two days are ever the same. As a Livestock Buyer, you'll play a key role in securing a consistent supply of high-quality cattle and sheep, joining an ambitious and growing team based at one of our client's Perth sites. Splitting your time between the office and the field, you'll build strong relationships with farmers, sourcing livestock over the phone and through regular farm visits.
This supplier-focused role requires excellent communication skills, commercial awareness, a strong understanding of livestock production systems, and a keen eye for animal quality. A natural relationship builder, you'll be confident engaging with producers and ideally have an established network of industry contacts that enables you to thrive in this competitive and fast-moving environment. We're looking for someone with solid industry experience, a proactive approach, and the ability to build lasting partnerships with farmers.

Responsibilities
- Ensure a sufficient and consistent supply of livestock into the supply chain to meet demand
- Network and establish business relationships with livestock agents and farmers
- Manage the transportation of stock, ensuring animals arrive in a timely, humane, and ethical manner
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and farm assurance requirements
- Work collaboratively across the team ensuring a smooth, efficient supply chain
- Stay informed and updated on market trends and price fluctuations within the sector

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge and understanding of livestock production systems
- Highly organised and able to prioritise own diary to meet business needs
- A passion for livestock, and a natural networker who enjoys dealing with farmers
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- A team player who can work cross-functionally across a business
- Driven and resilient with the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
- An established network of industry contacts
- Good commercial and financial acumen
- Proficient IT skills
- A UK driving licence

Pay range and compensation package
A competitive salary and package including a company car and commission, commensurate with the successful candidate's level of experience. *Basic salary bandings are indicative only.
