Join the established and experienced Lairage team at Dunbia Jaspers as a Lairage Operative
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with the right attitude to become a valued member of the department. Core working hours are 1pm to 10pm, Thursday to Sunday, with some flexibility required. Starting pay range is £12.71-£12.95 with opportunities to progress.
Responsibilities
In this varied, hands-on role, you will use a computer to book in sheep and support their safe handling and movement, always placing animal welfare at the heart of your work. Previous experience is not required, as full training will be provided. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic and an excellent attendance record.

Your role will include:
- Following and maintaining awareness of all departmental Standard Operating Procedures, with training provided to ensure you remain fully up to date with current SOPs.
- Contributing effectively to a fast-paced environment while meeting production needs.
- Working closely with the manager and wider team to achieve departmental targets.
- Promoting and maintaining high standards of health, safety and hygiene in line with company rules and regulations.
- Maintaining the welfare of animals at all times, and upholding high welfare standards.

Qualifications
- A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are preferable, as the site is in a rural location with limited access to public transport.
- A positive, proactive attitude towards your work and colleagues.
- The ability to work effectively and meet deadlines.
- A reliable, hardworking approach.
- Flexibility around working hours.
- An enthusiastic approach to teamwork.
- A commitment to working in line with the company’s Mission, Vision and Values.
- Good computer literacy.
- Confidence when working with animals.
