About the job
We are seeking passionate and driven individuals to join our livestock team in our bull stud and semen collection facility. The ideal candidate will play a key role in all aspects of bull management and semen collection, contributing to stud production targets and work with new technologies and innovations to drive bull performance.
As a Livestock Team Member at AI Services you will have the opportunity to contribute to producing quality livestock genetics for farms in N.I. and further afield.

Our headquarters are home to Northern Ireland’s only EU-approved bull stud and semen collection facility, delivering leading genetics across the UK, Ireland and worldwide.
Redevelopment of these stud facilities are currently underway with the creation of a new high-tech SMART stud featuring cutting-edge animal management systems and a sexed semen laboratory.

Role and responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Daily handling of bulls for both general animal management and semen collection.
- Completing livestock husbandry tasks to include feeding, bedding, footbathing, clipping and washing.
- Working to maintain a healthy, high welfare environment for AIS breeding bulls.
- Undertake livestock data recording activities, including feeding, health monitoring and animal behaviour information.
- Operating farm machinery for feeding, bedding and cleaning of livestock.
- Maintenance of equipment and overall cleanliness of the AIS semen collection centre.
- To fully comply with and carry out requirements of the Health and Safety and Biosecurity protocols.
- To complete any other duties as required from time to time.

Who we are looking for
A real team player who will work with others to meet company targets and maintain high standards across all aspects of the role.
- A motivated and open-minded person, always looking for new and better ways to work, helping to drive performance.
- Experience in handling livestock is essential; bull handling or semen collection experience is a bonus.
- A commitment to upholding high biosecurity, welfare and health and safety standards is a must.
- An individual who is comfortable recording animal data. Experience working with agricultural technologies is desirable however all relevant training will be given.
- A full clean driving license is required.
- Agricultural machinery experience is desirable however relevant training will be provided.
Additional information
The role involves a 7-day rota covering weekends and including public holidays.
