About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer specializing in Large Language Models (LLMs) to join our innovative team in the United Kingdom. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, optimizing, and deploying advanced LLMs tailored for applications in healthcare and life sciences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams comprising ML researchers, software engineers, and domain experts to develop solutions that address complex challenges in these critical sectors. Your expertise will contribute to building scalable, efficient, and impactful AI models that can transform healthcare outcomes and scientific research.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in developing, fine-tuning, and deploying Large Language Models, preferably in healthcare or related fields.
- Strong background in machine learning, natural language processing, and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
- Expertise in building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and preparing high-quality datasets for model training.
- Familiarity with ML infrastructure, including cloud platforms, containerization, and model deployment best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into effective AI solutions.
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field; advanced degrees are preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize Large Language Models tailored for healthcare and life sciences applications.
- Fine-tune pre-trained models to enhance performance on domain-specific tasks and datasets.
- Build and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines to improve model accuracy and relevance.
- Prepare, process, and curate datasets to ensure high-quality training and evaluation data.
- Implement scalable ML infrastructure to support model training, deployment, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate ML models into production environments.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning, NLP, and AI infrastructure, applying new techniques to improve existing systems.
- Document development processes, model architectures, and deployment procedures for transparency and reproducibility.
