LNG Technical Superintendent

UK / Hybrid (with vessel travel as required)

Are you an experienced LNG marine engineering professional looking to step ashore or further develop your career within technical fleet management?

A leading international ship management organisation is seeking an LNG Technical Superintendent to take responsibility for the technical performance, maintenance, compliance, and reliability of a fleet of LNG carriers. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring world-class operational standards across a modern LNG fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the technical operation of assigned LNG vessels.
  • Plan and oversee scheduled maintenance, major repairs, dry dockings, and vessel modifications.
  • Monitor vessel performance, reliability, and compliance with Class and statutory requirements.
  • Control vessel budgets, operating expenditure, and repair costs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Masters and Chief Engineers.
  • Coordinate service engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely execution of maintenance activities.
  • Investigate technical incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Conduct regular vessel visits and inspections to ensure the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

  • Previous experience sailing as a 1st Engineer or higher engineering rank on LNG vessels is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of LNG vessel machinery, cargo handling systems, and maintenance management.
  • Experience managing dry docks, repairs, surveys, and technical projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness with experience controlling budgets and operational expenditure.
  • Proactive, organised, and solution-focused approach.
