Job Summary

To support the efficient day-to-day operation of the Loading Bay by receiving, inspecting, recording, and distributing deliveries throughout the hotel. To ensure all goods are received in accordance with company procedures, health and safety regulations, and security requirements.

Candidate Profile

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a loading bay, warehouse, logistics or receiving function preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Possess strong communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Timeliness and accuracy in recording and reporting
  • Ability to use initiative.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Education or Certification:

  • Good level of English essential.

Specific Tasks

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

  • Ensure all goods received by the Loading Bay are of the correct quality, quantity, and description as per purchase order.
  • Ensure all delivery notes are signed, time stamped by receiver, delivery temperature recorded as appropriate, and copies are forwarded to the culinary team.
  • Record any damaged goods received on delivery note and report to Loading Bay Supervisor/Manager.
  • Notify, or deliver goods received to the various departments as appropriate.
  • Ensure that the Loading Bay is kept clean, tidy, and in hygienic conditions.
  • Ensure the security of all items in the loading bay.
  • Always use necessary PPE and safety clothing.
  • Ensure hotel equipment is used with the appropriate care to minimize damage and breakdowns.
  • Collect used pallets throughout the basement areas to prepare for collection by suppliers.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with all third parties using the loading bay and ensure managed with agreed terms on behalf of the hotel.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and ensure all equipment is handled, stored, and used correctly and safely. Protect company tools and equipment.

Safety and Security

  • Promote awareness of health and safety, for example, fire alert points, exits, fire extinguishers, trip hazards, etc.
  • Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment for other team members and guests.
  • "Clean as you go" to ensure a clean and tidy work area and follow the routine cleaning schedule.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and employ correct lifting procedures to avoid injury where applicable.
  • Protect the privacy and security of guests and your co-workers.

  • Complies with Marriott International Hotels Limited regional office and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Carry out any other duty/function that may be assigned by department or hotel leadership.
  • Maintain a high standard of grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards ensuring that your name badge is worn.
  • Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
  • Develop and maintain healthy inter-departmental relationships, support the wider hotel team to reach common goals.
