Hours: Full time, 42 hours a week, 4 on 4 off

Pay: £15.10 per hour

The London Museum is one of the United Kingdom's most iconic cultural institutions - home to world-class collections and visited by people from across the globe. We are seeking a confident and highly capable Loading Bay Officer who will be responsible for supporting the safe, secure and efficient operation of the Museum's Loading Bay and associated service areas.

About The Role

As a Loading Bay Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Support the day-to-day operation of the Loading Bay and associated service areas under the direction of the Loading Bay Supervisor.
  • Assist with deliveries, collections, contractor activities and vehicle movements to ensure they are conducted safely, securely and efficiently.
  • Monitor Loading Bay activity and report issues, risks or non-compliance promptly.
  • Control access to the Loading Bay in accordance with site requirements and authorised booking arrangements.
  • Help ensure operational activity does not adversely impact Museum operations, visitors, collections or staff.
  • Maintain strong situational awareness throughout each shift, communicate clearly and accurately, support safe vehicle and contractor activity, record key information effectively, and uphold high standards in an environment where security, safety and customer service are central to every interaction.

Essential

What we are looking for:

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
  • Previous experience within a security, customer service, logistics, facilities, transport or operational environment.
  • Good verbal communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with drivers, contractors, suppliers, museum staff, visitors and stakeholders.
  • Good written communication skills, including completing incident reports, logs, handovers and operational documentation.
  • Ability to follow Assignment Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and site-specific requirements.
  • Awareness of health and safety principles and the importance of safe systems of work.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional and effective under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Confidence to challenge unsafe acts, unauthorised access and non-compliance in a professional manner.

Desirable

  • Banksman or Vehicle Marshal qualification.
  • Experience working in an environment involving vehicle movements, deliveries or contractor activity.
  • Experience within a museum, cultural, heritage or visitor attraction environment.
  • First Aid at Work qualification.
