Location: London (NW10)
Salary: £30,804 (London Living Wage) plus benefits
Contract: Permanent, Full time (Mon-Fri, 40 hr/wk, 8.30am – 5.30pm)
Available: immediate start

The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Loading Bay Operative to join our team.
Based in the loading bay despatch department (goods out), you would physically pick, pack and prepare hire furniture. You would use our hire software and physical paperwork to log items out, maintaining accurate stock records, and checking condition ahead of collection.
There is a consistent flow of hire jobs to process of varying shapes and sizes – from a glamorous sofa for a fashion photoshoot, to large numbers of characterful furniture, lighting and accessories for a film set – be prepared to be very busy!

Whilst your primary focus would be small item returns, you would be need to be flexible and prepared to jump into the returns and quality control department as needed.
This is a hands-on role for someone highly-organised, motivated, and physically fit; someone who would enjoy the challenge of working with unusual and interesting products that don’t fit neatly into boxes!
Main Duties
- Physically pick, pack and prepare furniture, lighting and props ready for despatch.
- Use initiative and be proactive; ensure items are prepared efficiently and on time.
- Process hire jobs accurately using both paperwork and hire software.
- Check stock levels and condition records; report any issues to loss & damage team.
- Help to maintain efficiency and brand consistency via use of appropriate packaging.
- Move between despatch & returns department as needed.
- Cleaning and basic maintenance of items, testing of electrics (training provided).
- Support to other departments as needed; re-display of items, admin, showroom and warehouse maintenance, general assistant duties.
- Follow health and safety protocol, help to maintain safe working environment for all.

- A proactive and practical person who loves a hands-on role.
- Physical requirements: lifting and moving of furniture, trolleys/crates/boxes and small props; bending, kneeling and standing for extended periods of time.
- Highly organised, methodical.
- Attention to detail, commitment to quality control.
- Initiative; work independently, as well as follow direction from manager/team leader.
- A passion for working with unusual and interesting products.
- Positive and motivated with a strong work ethic.
- A team player.
- Great communication skills – verbal and written.
- Valid UK work permit.
- Checkable references.
- Previous experience of furniture delivery/removals, antiques/auctions, events/hospitality industry would be a plus.
