Loads Engineer

In order to develop and expand the capabilities of SAFRAN Engineering Services in the UK, we are looking for a Loads Engineer to join our growing team for initially a 12m fixed term contract.

Responsibilities

  • Load calculations used for sizing study of future aircrafts or for major MODs.
  • For a start, determination of component loads (calculation of the loads on specific parts) and could be in the future:
    • Ground loads (Landings, Brakings, Turns, Rollings,...)
    • Flight loads (Longitudinal and Lateral Manoeuvres, Load Alleviation Functions, Gust, Failure cases...)
    • Aeroelastics calculation (Flutter calculations, control surfaces limit cycle oscillations)

Requirements

  • Mechanical / Aerospace / Structural Engineering degree
  • Technical skills:
    • Flight Physics
    • Flight Loads
    • Ground Loads
    • Aeroelastics
    • Aerodynamics
  • Know the behavior of an airplane, to have physical sense
  • Coding: Python (mandatory)
  • Tools: Matlab
  • Strong ability to plan and schedule activities across multiple modules
  • Pay attention to details
  • Effective communication skills, able to clearly define expectations and gain understanding
  • Team spirit with a capacity to interact with multicultural teams
