Are you a recent graduate, career starter, or someone looking to gain meaningful experience in financial services?

Join Great Western Credit Union for a 6-month paid placement as a Loan Administrator, where you'll gain hands-on experience in community finance, customer service, administration and ethical lending while working for a member-owned co-operative that makes a real difference to people's lives.

Who are we?
Great Western Credit Union (GWCU) is a mission-led, member-owned co-operative offering ethical financial services across the South West. We exist to help people and neighbourhoods become better off by working together to provide fair, affordable loans and accessible savings.

Our focus is on delivering financial services in a way that’s fair, inclusive, and strengthens the communities we serve. Everything we do is about creating positive change for our members and the wider community.

What’s this job all about?
The Loan Administrator plays an important role within our Onboarding Team, supporting the efficient processing of loan applications and helping members through the early stages of their journey with GWCU.

You'll gather and verify information, ensure applications are accurate and complete, and follow established lending procedures to support timely decision-making.

This role combines administration, attention to detail and customer service. You'll spend time reviewing information, communicating with members and working closely with colleagues to ensure applications progress smoothly.

Most importantly, you'll help deliver a positive experience for members, many of whom may be applying for credit during challenging circumstances.

What you'll be doing

  • Processing Loan Applications
    • Accurately capture application information on GWCU systems
    • Review applications and supporting documents to ensure they are complete and meet required standards
    • Verify information provided by applicants using established procedures
    • Follow defined lending procedures, guidance and decision trees
    • Escalate applications outside agreed parameters to appropriate colleagues
    • Maintain accurate records and audit trails

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
