Job Description
U.S. Bank Global Corporate Trust Services is one of the largest providers of corporate trust services in the world. Our clients look to us for trustee, agency, escrow, document custody and money market issuing services via our 48 domestic offices and three international offices.
The Loan Agency business in London manages a large and diverse portfolio of transactions, including jumbo leveraged, syndicated, commercial real estate, project finance, margin, small club and direct lending style loans - where U.S. Bank acts as the facility agent and security agent on the transactions.
We are looking to recruit a Loan Agency Operations Manager to lead the London Loan Agency Operations team, providing day-to-day management, operational oversight and control across a large and diverse portfolio of loan agency transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Operational Management
- Responsible for the leadership and day-to-day management of the Loan Agency Operations team
- Line management of team members, including SLA oversight and performance metrics
- Supporting employee development, including performance and development reviews
- Managing daily client and loan transaction administration deliverables
- Oversight and approval of key transaction activities, including rollovers, rate sets, payments, drawdowns, refinancings and syndications
- Oversight of Loan transfer process for syndicated transactions through Clearpar and offline trades
- Oversight of core administrative activities, including invoicing, cash forecasting and deal terminations
- Ensuring a robust control environment through appropriate procedures, checklists and dual-control processes
- Acting as SME for the Loan Agency operational platform, including identifying and supporting process and system enhancements
- Acting as a key escalation point for internal and external transaction and client service matters
- Oversight of operational set-up of new transactions onto the operational platform to reflect contractual deliverables and facility documentation
- Drive continuous improvement across the operating model, supporting scalable, controlled and consistent delivery as the portfolio and business requirements evolve.

The role will also be responsible for strengthening the operating model and supporting the ongoing development of the team, including:
- Provide stable, accountable leadership for the team, maintaining operational resilience and consistent delivery against agreed service standards.
- Support the continued development of the team structure and operating model, ensuring roles, responsibilities and escalation paths are clear and effective.
- Coach and develop team members, building capability, accountability and depth across key operational processes.
- Maintain and enhance documented procedures, systems knowledge and deal-specific operating guidance to improve consistency and reduce key person dependency risk.
- Act as a subject matter expert and senior escalation point on complex transactions, client relationships and platform infrastructure.
- Promote effective knowledge sharing across the team, ensuring critical insights and practical experience are embedded in a structured and sustainable way.
Key experience and skills required
- 7 years plus Loan Agency, Loan Administration or closely related loan operations experience
- High level of familiarity with standard loan facility documentation (e.g. LMA)
- Track record of successfully managing loan operations teams
- Extensive loan administration experience in relation to full range of loan event processing
- Ability to manage daily operational activity, prioritise competing deliverables and allocate work effectively against deadlines
- Experience maintaining and enhancing control environments, procedures, checklists and operational governance
- Ability to identify operational risks, process weaknesses and improvement opportunities, and to support practical change delivery
- Experience of employee development and performance management
- Strong client service mindset, with the ability to balance commercial responsiveness, operational discipline and risk management
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, lenders, internal stakeholders and senior management
- Ability to deploy good judgement in respect to escalation of client and transaction issues, ability to proactively resolve complex matters

Location expectations
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week. (Office is based in the City - 125 Old Broad Street, London, EC2N 1AR)
