Loan Asset Management (Real Estate) x 2 – Associate + Analyst

Caravel are working with an established and growing real estate credit investor that is looking to make two hires into its Loan Asset Management team – one Analyst and one Associate.

The team manages a portfolio of short-term real estate loans across bridging, refurbishment and development finance, taking responsibility for loans following completion through construction, repayment and, where required, recovery.

Both positions offer broad exposure across the loan lifecycle, rather than being purely administrative loan servicing roles. You’ll work closely with lenders, monitoring surveyors, solicitors and internal teams, gaining exposure to individual loans, development projects and the performance and risk of the wider portfolio.

The level of ownership will naturally differ between the two hires. The Analyst will support across the portfolio while progressively taking on more responsibility, whereas the Associate will have greater ownership of loans, lender relationships and more complex portfolio situations.

The Role

Depending on level, responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and monitoring bridge, refurbishment and development loans following completion.
  • Reviewing and processing drawdowns, extensions, redemptions, facility amendments and other loan events.
  • Monitoring construction projects, including budgets, cashflow, delays and changes to schemes.
  • Reviewing valuation and monitoring surveyor reports and supporting or approving stage payments.
  • Monitoring portfolio risks including maturities, covenant breaches, arrears and other early warning indicators.
  • Supporting the management of watchlist and non-performing loans and helping develop appropriate mitigation or recovery strategies.
  • Producing regular portfolio reporting for lenders and senior management.
  • Building relationships with lenders, solicitors, surveyors and other external stakeholders.
  • Working closely with internal and outsourced teams to ensure loans are managed efficiently.
  • Helping improve processes, reporting and the use of technology and AI across the Loan Asset Management function.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

At Associate level, there will be greater responsibility for managing lender relationships, presenting portfolio performance, overseeing junior team members and taking the lead on more complex loans, including watchlist and non-performing situations.

About You

We’re deliberately looking at two different levels of experience:

Analyst

You may already have some exposure to real estate lending or loan asset management, but direct lending experience isn't essential.

The firm is open to candidates from transferable backgrounds including surveying, restructuring/insolvency, property, banking operations, legal or finance, provided you have strong analytical skills, good attention to detail and a genuine interest in developing a career within real estate credit.

Associate

You'll ideally have 3+ years' relevant experience within real estate lending, loan asset management, portfolio management or loan servicing, with experience of bridging, refurbishment or development finance particularly relevant.

You should be comfortable assessing development and construction risk, reviewing valuation and monitoring surveyor reports and managing loans through their post-completion lifecycle. Exposure to watchlist loans, workouts or NPLs would be beneficial, although it isn't essential.

Across both positions, the firm is looking for people who are analytical, commercially minded and comfortable taking ownership. Strong Excel and communication skills are important, alongside an interest in using technology to improve how the team operates.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a small and growing Loan Asset Management team, with exposure to a varied portfolio of real estate-backed lending and the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility relatively quickly. Current loan book size is circa £1bn.

For the Analyst, there is a strong learning curve and genuine scope to build a career within real estate credit. For the Associate, there is the opportunity to take ownership of relationships and portfolio decisions while developing broader leadership responsibility as the team grows.

Package + Other Info

  • Analyst: £40-50,000 + bonus
  • Associate: £60-75,000 + bonus

The team works from its London office Monday to Thursday, with Friday working from home.

Please note: Applicants must already have the unrestricted right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
