Loan Kit Co-ordinator

Location: KIMS Hospital, Maidstone

Contract: 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Hours: 19 hours per week

Salary: £12,557.48 per annum (£26,436.80 full-time equivalent)

Would you like to play an important role in supporting our Theatre and Orthopaedic teams? If so, we could have the perfect opportunity for you at KIMS Hospital.

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Loan Kit Co-ordinator to join our Orthopaedic and Theatre Team. This is an important role in ensuring the right surgical equipment and loan kits are available when they are needed, supporting the smooth and efficient running of operating lists.

Working closely with our Theatre teams, CSSD, scheduling colleagues, Procurement and company representatives, you will coordinate loan kit requirements, manage deliveries and stock, maintain accurate records and ensure equipment is available in line with agreed processes.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives on organisation, enjoys building effective working relationships and takes pride in getting the details right.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Coordinating loan kit requirements, working with surgical teams and theatre scheduling to ensure equipment is ordered and available in good time for operating lists.
  • Managing the movement and receipt of loan equipment, including collecting deliveries, unpacking and checking instruments, transporting equipment between storage and theatres and ensuring deliveries are accurately received and stored.
  • Maintaining accurate stock and financial records, including monitoring consigned stock levels, recording kit expenditure, maintaining databases and supporting Procurement with loan kit invoice checking.
  • Building strong working relationships with Theatres, CSSD, Procurement, scheduling teams and company representatives to ensure effective communication and a reliable kit management service.
  • Supporting efficient and compliant processes, ensuring kit is managed in accordance with agreed protocols, identifying shortages, resolving day-to-day queries and contributing to improvements in working practices.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, accurate and confident working in a busy environment. You will need excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise competing demands and a professional approach when working with colleagues across different departments.

Essential Criteria

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, together with good IT skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable Criteria

  • Understanding or familiarity of Theatre instrumentation.
  • Previous experience of working within a healthcare, theatre, procurement, stock management or similar environment.
