Loan Operations & Trade Finance Settlements Analyst
We are hiring a Loan Operations & Trade Finance Settlements Analyst to support daily loan operations, settlements, trade finance processing, and branch operations within a regulated banking environment.
This role suits someone with strong hands-on experience in bilateral and syndicated loan operations, including drawdowns, rollovers, repayments, fees, reconciliations, and settlement processing. You should be comfortable working in a detailed, deadline-driven operations role where accuracy, controls, and follow-through matter.
Key Responsibilities
- Process drawdown, rollover, and repayment requests under bilateral and syndicated loan agreements.
- Support daily loan administration, including loan portfolio reporting, diary monitoring, and past-due reporting.
- Monitor outstanding and undrawn facility positions, commitment fees, utilisation fees, and customer fee reports.
- Report nostro position movements accurately to Markets Operations within agreed deadlines.
- Support settlement operations, including payment tracking, reconciliation, charges, and GL entries.
- Prepare facility reports, customer outstanding reports, and transaction records for new drawdowns.
- Maintain accurate transaction files, correspondence records, SWIFT messages, and audit trails.
- Support trade finance processing across products such as:
- Letters of Credit
- Amendments
- Bills acceptance
- TR loans
- Inward bills collection
- Import/export invoice financing
- Standby LCs
- Bank guarantees
- LC advising, confirming, negotiation, and transfer LCs
- Bank-to-bank reimbursement claims
- Liaise with internal teams including Trade Finance, Loan Operations, Global Markets, Finance, Corporate Banking, Risk, and Compliance.
- Liaise externally with customers, correspondent banks, and outsourced processing teams.
- Complete regular control checks, including CSA / RCSA activity.
- Provide cover across Operations where required, including fixed deposit processing.
- Assist with process documentation, training, and continuous improvement.

What We Are Looking For

- 5+ years’ experience in bilateral and syndicated loan operations.
- Hands-on experience processing drawdowns, rollovers, repayments, fees, and loan settlements.
- Good understanding of banking products, ideally including trade finance.
- Experience with loan operations systems, SWIFT, payment processing, reconciliations, or core banking systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under time pressure.
- Good understanding of operational risk, controls, and regulatory expectations.
- Comfortable with manual reporting, spreadsheets, transaction logs, and document filing.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with internal stakeholders, customers, and correspondent banks.
- Positive, practical, and team-oriented approach.
Useful Experience
- LoanIQ, ACBS, or similar loan administration systems.
- SWIFT payments and messages.
- Nostro reconciliation.
- Trade finance operations.
- GL entries, charges, and fee processing.
- Branch banking / international bank operations.
- LMA loan documentation exposure.
