Local ECO Manager
Salary
£36,000 - £42,000 which includes London weighting and is dependent on experience, as well as a travel package £4,800 p.a. to support all travel within Greater London area, and bonus
Hours
40 hours per week
Location
Two roles available. Hybrid working across 1 x Merton and Kingston and 1 x Sutton and Croydon
About the Role
The Local ECO Manager will manage and develop the Education, Communications and Outreach, and Social Value function for the contracts, and ensure strategic project plans are delivered to a high standard, demonstrating measurable results to meet objectives.
You will work closely with the Area ECO Manager and lead a team of ECO and Social Value Officers to develop community engagement and social value projects to change resident behaviours, improve recycling rates and embed our contracts within the local community and will be responsible for the budget, timeline and quality of their delivery. You will also be the day to day point of contact for the client and site management team and have responsibility for developing staff wellbeing events and engagement in collaboration with the local contract teams.
Build strong relationships with our clients (Royal Borough of Kingston, Merton Council, Sutton Council and Croydon Council), Veolia operations management team, and colleagues, quickly responding to queries and providing solutions to maintain a high standard of service. Drive the performance of the ECO officers, coaching and mentoring them to improve their project planning, community engagement approach, and support them in achieving their personal goals. Develop and deliver social value initiatives across local employment, internships and work experience support, and our funding programme for local communities. Identify good news stories and feed them to the regional external engagement team, as well as working closely with this team to showcase our expertise in behaviour change and social value delivery across digital channels and press. Work closely with the Veolia operations senior team to develop and deliver internal communications and engagement campaigns. Responsibility for the business as usual outputs of the team, including management of the ECO team budget. Provide ECO support to wider contracts as needed.

What We Are Looking For
Essential
- Project development and management.
- People and budget management - can be project-based rather than as a direct line manager.
- Experience delivering behaviour change and/or community engagement techniques and analysing results.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.
- Experience of building strong stakeholder relationships.
- A passion for sustainability and the environment.
Desirable
- Recycling & Waste Industry knowledge.
- Understanding or experience of working with local authorities.
- Experience of visual and textual content production across multiple formats.
- Advanced understanding of data management and analysis.
- Understanding of PR, social media, social advertising and digital communications.
