Local Marketing Manager

At B&M, we're committed to opening and relaunching successful stores that quickly become part of their local communities. As a Local Marketing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering impactful local marketing campaigns that drive awareness, customer acquisition, and long-term store performance across new store openings, relocations, and refurbishments.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role for an experienced marketer who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment. Working closely with Marketing, PR, Creative, Store Development, and Operations teams, alongside external agencies and partners, you will create and execute locally relevant marketing strategies that maximise growth opportunities while ensuring marketing investment is targeted effectively within each catchment area.

This role is a fixed term contract with the potential to go permanent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver end-to-end local marketing plans for new store openings, relocations, refurbishments, and priority store initiatives across the UK.
  • Create tailored campaigns based on local demographics, catchment analysis, customer insight, and competitive landscape to maximise customer acquisition and store performance.
  • Manage activity across multiple marketing channels, including paid media, PR, community engagement, local partnerships, social media, CRM, out-of-home advertising, and local media.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies to coordinate campaign delivery, manage budgets, monitor performance, and ensure all activity is delivered on time.
  • Analyse campaign effectiveness, providing insight, recommendations, and post-campaign evaluations to continuously improve local marketing outcomes and return on investment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
