Local Marketing Manager

At Howdens, we're looking for a creative Local Marketing Manager to join us on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract. Supporting our network of over 950 depots, you'll lead the delivery of impactful local marketing activity that drives brand awareness, customer engagement and sales. From developing marketing toolkits and managing local campaigns to supporting new depot openings and major business initiatives, you'll work closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure marketing activations are delivered effectively, measured successfully and aligned with our wider commercial objectives.

This role is based in at our office in Raunds, Northamptonshire and the team work on site 4 days a week.

What will I be doing?

  • Support depots and trade teams with on-the-ground marketing that drives local awareness, engagement, and sales.
  • Manage and continuously improve our Depot Marketing Toolkit, leading projects and working with stakeholders to ensure it meets evolving business needs.
  • Provide end-to-end marketing support for new depot openings, relocations, refurbishments and closures, collaborating closely with depot managers and regional stakeholders.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of depot point-of-sale (POS) activity, ensuring marketing materials are produced on time, within budget and aligned to business priorities.
  • Support depot-led campaigns and local marketing activity, creating effective collateral and tools that help generate leads and grow customer accounts.
  • Act as the marketing lead for Product Expos and Mock Depot initiatives, providing marketing materials and event support where required.
  • Create clear and engaging communications for depots, ensuring marketing activity is understood, implemented effectively and aligned with wider business objectives.
  • Champion brand consistency across all local marketing activity, ensuring communications and materials reflect our brand guidelines and high standards.
  • Analyse the performance of local marketing activity, using data and insights to measure impact and shape future marketing strategies.
  • Build strong relationships across marketing, trade and category teams, establishing effective ways of working and driving successful cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support wider marketing projects and business initiatives, contributing ideas, expertise and leadership to help deliver strategic objectives.

What do we need from you?

  • Proven experience in marketing within a B2B or trade environment
  • Confidence in managing local marketing campaigns, POS activity, and event execution
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines
  • Experience of managing agency, partnership, relationships
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset — ready to adapt to changing business priorities
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage teams across all levels
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to travel nationally when needed
  • Passion for brand consistency and creating marketing that truly delivers impact
