This position reports to:
Local Division Manager
In this role, you will be at the very heart of the ABB Traction Service team, supporting our customers with their service needs in the UK and Ireland, and ensuring the Service portfolio is delivered effectively. The ABB Traction install base in the UK is substantial, with thousands of assets in daily operation across the country. ABB Traction are looking for their next key Service team member to support our customers in achieving their service targets and delivering a high-quality service.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong blend of customer focus, operational leadership, commercial acumen, quality management, and digital capability. They will have experience working within enterprise business environments, leveraging integrated systems, analytics, and performance data to drive customer satisfaction, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and sustainable business growth within a service-led, asset-intensive, or safety-critical industry.

Your Role And Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.
This role is Remote (estimated 80% home based with 20% travel time across the UK and Ireland)

- Be the face of ABB Traction Service for our UK customers
- Provide project and sales support for ABB Traction Service customers and team members
- Identify customer needs and sales opportunities to support Service execution and growth
- Manage UK contracts with a customer first approach, aligned with ABB Traction Service standards
- Lead UK Traction Service operations with support of local Motion and global Traction Service teams
- Drive continuous improvement for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Performance & customer satisfaction
- Lead a high-performance culture focused on high quality customer service
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term partnership success
Qualifications And Experience For The Role
Proven experience across at least three of the following areas of:
- Experienced in leading service operations within rolling stock, or similar asset-intensive environments.
- Managing operational resources, project deliveries and contractual requirements.
- Leading, developing and influencing teams within direct reporting and matrix organisations.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships across complex stakeholder environments.
- Driving change initiatives and implementing operational improvements that enhance Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Performance and customer satisfaction.
- Possesses a strong understanding of maintenance, service delivery, asset lifecycle management and operational performance within a service-based organisation.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety leadership, driving a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality and operational standards.
- Commercially aware, with experience using ERP and integrated business systems to support service operations, cost management, performance monitoring and strategic execution.
- Demonstrates outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to produce precise technical, operational and customer-facing documentation within a regulated and quality-driven environment.
- Holds a full UK driving licence, which is essential.
