Job Introduction

Local Studies & Archive Assistant (Casual)

The Library Service is looking to recruit a Casual Local Studies & Archive Assistant to work with our teams at Bradford and Keighley Local Studies Libraries.

Our Local Studies and Archives teams collect, preserve and promote the documented history and heritage of the District enabling access to these extensive resources for a wide variety of customers and researchers.

The main responsibilities of this role include working within the team on front line services including providing a customer-focused enquiry and research service, supporting visitors and answering enquiries by phone and email.

The duties of the post include assisting with the maintenance of stock and other collection management tasks such as indexing and cataloguing as well as assisting with events and activities and in engaging people with their heritage and local area.
