Localization Account Manager (6-Month FTC, with potential to go permanent)
Mother Tongue specializes in creative language and data solutions for our clients. We focus on combining the latest technology and AI with human creativity, working with ad agencies and brands directly. We are currently recruiting for a role to join our Client Services team in London, SE1 and we have colleagues in California and the Philippines.
Job description
The main focus of the role is managing clients and supporting them with the execution of language/content-related projects, including transcreation, translation, content origination, voiceovers, subtitling, production and others.
This entails understanding a client’s needs and mapping their current systems for managing content, being their trusted advisor and go-to for all aspects of cultural and linguistic queries, collaborating cross-functions to develop bespoke solutions and coordinating the full lifecycle of a project from quoting, selecting in-market talent & workflows, briefing, on time delivery, and dealing with any queries along the way. You will need to build and maintain strong relationships both with clients and suppliers around the world. You will look for opportunities to grow client accounts and improve processes and ways of working.
A passion for language is essential in both understanding the added value of our work, and being able to represent and advocate for this with clients.

Candidate profile
At Mother Tongue, we want to be defined by our positivity, rigour, resourcefulness and passion for language. The ideal applicant will possess these qualities, as well as the following:
Necessary
- University-level education
- Fluency in English and at least one other language. (English may be your mother tongue, with fluency in a second language or your mother tongue may be another language.)
- Great communication skills (by phone/VC and in writing).
- Ability to work independently where necessary, and collaborate effectively with others.
- Familiarity with modern office software.
- You must have the right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience in client-facing roles
- Experience with CAT tools/TMS systems
- An interest in technology
- An informed perspective on the future direction of the industry.

Working arrangements
This is a hybrid role, with the in-office portion based in our offices in London, SE1. You should expect to spend 3 days every week in the office, with the possibility for homeworking the remainder of the week.
