This is a rotational post for a Locally Employed Doctor – IMT Level doctor in Respiratory / Acute Medicine in East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

The appointee will be based at Conquest Hospital, but this may change depending on service need.

PLEASE NOTE THIS POST ENDS ON 3rd AUGUST 2027 FIXED TERM UP TO 12 MONTHS ONLY

  • Clerking of emergency and elective patients ensuring that mandatory documentation is completed.
  • Admit and investigate emergency admissions, under the supervision of the CT, Registrar and Consultant.
  • Venepuncture and cannulation of patients when appropriate and necessary, ensuring all consenting has been agreed with the patient.
  • Undertake ward duties to ensure patient pathways are progressed.
  • Discuss with relatives any clinical concerns and plans as necessary.
  • Timely writing of discharge summaries.
  • Timely assessment of patients in order discharge planning can be facilitated.
  • Adherence to all ESHT policies including ‘Bare Below the Elbows’.
  • Ensure accurate completion of documentation.
  • Attend Consultant ward rounds.
  • As necessary attend operating theatre sessions for observation and possible assisting.
  • Any other duties appropriate to the post.
