NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The Role
The shift pattern for this post is 9am-5pm.
This is a Fixed term post for 1 year.
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
Applications are invited for this 0.6 FTE post in NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde to provide one year of maternity leave cover. You will work with adults with learning disability, providing psychiatric input to a multidisciplinary team of specialist healthcare and social work professionals of a Health & Social Care Partnership. The post will be based in Clydebank, and covers the whole of West Dunbartonshire HSCP.
The post includes 1SPA.
About the Employer
NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde serves a total population of 1.2 million. The learning disability psychiatry team includes 13 Consultants, 1 Academic, 1 Specialty Grade Doctor and trainees. There is an active CPD and medical audit programme within LD psychiatry that the applicant would be welcome to attend and contribute to.
Requirements
Applicants should be registered and licensed by the GMC, be an Approved Medical Practitioner for the Mental Health (care & treatment) Scotland Act (or equivalent) and should hold (or be within 6 months of achieving a) CCT in Psychiatry of Learning Disability.

Funding is only available for 0.6 FTE, however additional sessions in either LD psychiatry or GA psychiatry are often available within the health board and applicants seeking a full time post are encouraged to apply.
