About the Role

We are looking for great colleagues to join our team. This post is within the Clinical Service Unit of Respiratory Medicine and we are seeking a Locum Consultant who can lead, compliment and develop general and specialist respiratory care within the Northern Care Alliance based at Royal Oldham Hospital.

The Respiratory Directorate provides specialist services from our hospital sites and community settings for the people in the North East sector of Greater Manchester. It is a well-developed service with an excellent reputation led by a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Respiratory ward consultant rota with a roughly 1:3 consultant of the week model.
  • Provide regular outpatient respiratory clinics/services.
  • Deliver outpatient activity, likely one general respiratory clinic a week and a further clinic(s) depending on the applicant’s particular subspecialty interest.
  • Develop an acute respiratory “hot clinic” to allow patients presenting to A&E/ SDEC to be discharged with early respiratory input on discharge or to see urgent referrals from primary care.
  • Triage, virtual and outpatient review of general respiratory referrals.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
