Job Description
The Trauma and Orthopaedic Clinical Directorate provides a high-quality, safe, and patient-focused service.
The Directorate forms part of the surgical services within the Division of Planned Care. The Trauma and Orthopaedic Department is extremely busy, with a substantial elective and trauma workload covering a wide spectrum of procedures. There are daily general trauma theatre lists, alongside sub-specialist elective operating lists across a range of disciplines, including upper limb surgery (encompassing complex soft tissue procedures, ligament reconstruction, arthroscopy, and primary and revision arthroplasty), paediatric orthopaedics, lower limb surgery, foot and ankle surgery (including sports injuries, trauma reconstruction, arthroscopic and open elective procedures, and ankle arthroplasty), and orthopaedic hand surgery (covering hand and wrist trauma as well as elective conditions). In addition, the department runs busy, daily fracture clinics, paediatric trauma clinics at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital site, and daily hand trauma clinics.
The department has developed a highly professional and commercially focused approach to delivering the highest standards of patient-centred care.
