Role Overview

The candidate will be a key figure within the existing MDT, collaborating with senior staff across the division of Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the provision of exceptional clinical care for patients with complex acute respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respiratory Care Management:

    • Managing both general respiratory patients and more complex cases, particularly within the newly developed NIV unit.
    • Providing input into the bronchoscopy service, specialist respiratory clinics, and continued development of pleural, ILD, pulmonary infection, and lung cancer services.
  • Ward Management:

    • Managing up to 28 respiratory patients.
  • RSU Management:

    • Managing 10 acute respiratory patients, including 6 dedicated NIV beds.
  • Clinical and Research Opportunities:

    • Opportunity to deliver bronchoscopy, general respiratory, and pleural clinics during off-ward weeks.
    • Participation in specialist services such as Severe Asthma, Pleural Disease, ILD, Pulmonary Infection, and Lung Cancer (EBUS @ LHCH).
    • Opportunities for research involvement.
    • On-call commitment only during ward weeks.
