Child Protection Conference Chair

Location: Local Authority in the South West of England

Pay Rate: £44 per hour

Contract: Locum

NonStop Consulting is working with a Local Authority in the South West of England to recruit an experienced Child Protection Conference Chair to join their service.

The Local Authority is continuing to develop its service and improve outcomes for children and families and is looking for an experienced professional to join the team.

This position will focus specifically on Child Protection Conferences, rather than being part of a combined reviewing service.

Responsibilities

  • Chair Child Protection Conferences and ensure they are conducted effectively and in line with statutory guidance.
  • Undertake Initial Child Protection Conferences in person, as well as Review Conferences where required.
  • Ensure the views of children and families are appropriately represented within the Child Protection Conference process.
  • Work effectively with Social Workers, Managers, and partner agencies to support good safeguarding practice and positive outcomes for children.
  • Attend face-to-face team meetings as required.
  • Work flexibly, with other working arrangements agreed with the respective Line Manager.

Requirements

  • Social Work qualification and active Social Work England registration.
  • Significant experience within Children’s Social Care and Child Protection.
  • Previous experience chairing Child Protection Conferences.
  • Driving license
