HPFT is seeking a specialty Doctor psychiatrist to join Southwest Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team based in Watford. The vacancy has arisen as the result of the previous post holder moving to another position. The successful candidate would contribute to the clinical effectiveness of the well-established Crisis team.
The post holder will work alongside the multidisciplinary team and a consultant psychiatrist allocated to SWCRHTT. People receiving services from the community services are predominantly severely mentally ill, and so active involvement in the process of care programming is vital. The post holder will be expected to work independently on a day-to-day basis, but with access to a consultant. The post holder will be based at Colne House in Watford and will be expected to do regular home visits across the catchment area.

The successful candidate would be supporting the CRHTT consultant and the multidisciplinary team in providing diagnostic assessments and treatment to patients with severe, complex, and high-risk psychiatric conditions. The successful candidate would be expected to undertake detailed assessments of clinical risks and liaising closely with community and acute care pathway colleagues as well as GPs and carers. The Team usually has up to about 40-50 patients receiving acute home treatment support at any time.
