HOSPITAL LAUNDRY WORKER

This role supports the safe, hygienic, and efficient management of hospital laundry, linen, uniforms, and sterile theatre packs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving, sorting, packing, storing, issuing, and delivering linen and uniforms
  • Maintaining strict separation between clean, used, and infected items
  • Operating laundry equipment using approved processes
  • Maintaining accurate stock and traceability records
  • Preparing ward orders
  • Checking sterile theatre packs
  • Supporting uniform services
  • Ensuring compliance with HTM 01-04, infection prevention, COSHH, health and safety, and information governance requirements

HOSPITAL WASTE PORTER

This Waste Porter role supports the safe, compliant, and efficient management of healthcare waste, recycling, equipment movement, and environmental services across the hospital. Responsibilities include:

  • Collecting, transporting, segregating, storing, and disposing of clinical, infectious, pharmaceutical, confidential, and domestic waste
  • Maintaining waste records
  • Supporting recycling initiatives
  • Operating waste-handling equipment when trained
  • Moving equipment and supplies
  • Ensuring secure handling of confidential and pharmaceutical waste
  • Maintaining safe waste compounds and storage areas

HOSPITAL TRANSPORT DRIVER

This role provides a safe, secure, confidential, and customer-focused transport service between hospitals and healthcare sites. Key duties include:

  • Driving authorised non-HGV vehicles
  • Transporting medicines, blood products, specimens, medical equipment, stores, waste, confidential records, and other approved consignments
  • Maintaining traceability, security, and legal compliance
  • Performing vehicle safety checks
  • Planning routes
  • Securing loads
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Following strict infection prevention, confidentiality, and chain-of-custody procedures

Essential skills:

  • Strong driving
  • Communication
  • Customer service
  • Manual handling
  • Record-keeping skills

Requirements:

  • Full UK Category B driving licence
  • Training in defensive driving, infection control, medicines transport, waste handling, load security, information governance, and health and safety procedures
