Overview Of Role
Company: Allied Bakeries
Location: West Bromwich
Working Hours: 07:00 – 15:00
Shift Pattern:
- Week 1: Monday – Friday
- Week 2: Monday - Saturday, excluding Wednesday
The Transport Administrator provides vital administrative support to the transport operation, ensuring the efficient planning, coordination, and monitoring of vehicle movements, driver activities, and transport documentation. The role supports compliance, customer service, and operational efficiency by maintaining accurate records, processing transport information, and acting as a key link between drivers, customers, warehouse teams, and management.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain transport records, schedules, and operational documentation.
- Process and update vehicle, driver, and delivery information accurately within transport systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Support route planning and daily transport operations.
- Manage driver paperwork.
- Liaise with drivers, customers, carriers, and internal departments regarding delivery schedules.
- Support and work within external systems, for example Tesco Timms, in line with AB systems such as SAP and B2B.
- Lead the losses reports and analysis function, owning the driver shorts; engaging with drivers and department managers to find root cause of losses.
- Monitor delivery progress and proactively communicate updates to support service excellence and operational efficiency.
- Ensure proof of delivery (POD) documentation is received, filed, and processed correctly.
- Raise purchase orders, process invoices, and maintain financial records related to transport activities where required.
- Support customer service improvements by assisting with the investigation of service queries and contributing to effective resolutions.
- Provide administrative support during audits, compliance checks, and operational reviews.
- Support the Site ‘Safety First’ message through active auditing.

Requirements
- Previous supervisory administration experience in a busy FMCG role is desirable.
- Previous experience of SAP is desirable.
- Proficient experience of systems, including a working ability with Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Word.
