Logistics Agent

Pay rate: £13.45 – £20.18

Contract Type: Temporary

Location: Bury St Edmunds

Start Date: 1st September

We are looking for a Logistics Agent to start 1st September for our client based in Bury St Edmunds, with all the support from our experienced Driver Hire team in Bury St Edmunds.

The Successful Logistics Agent Will Receive

  • £13.45/h basic
  • £20.18/h overtime & weekends
  • Subsidised canteen
  • Guaranteed 37.5hrs per week
  • 28 days holiday prorated on PAYE

What To Expect As a Logistics Agent

As a Logistics Agent, you’ll play an important part in keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly. Working alongside the wider logistics team, you’ll help coordinate drivers, support customers and make sure everything stays safe, compliant and on schedule.

Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include

  • Monitoring drivers’ hours and supporting transport compliance
  • Providing helpful, professional customer support
  • Assisting with health & safety and operational procedures
  • Completing general logistics administration and maintaining accurate records
  • Supporting drivers and colleagues with day-to-day queries
  • Helping the team keep operations organised, compliant and running efficiently

Shift Pattern

  • Monday–Friday (08:30–16:30) during training, transitioning to Tuesday–Saturday (12:00–20:00) thereafter.

As a Logistics Agent You Must

  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organisation skills with good attention to detail
  • Confidence using computers and standard office systems
  • The ability to work accurately in a busy logistics environment
  • A proactive approach to solving day-to-day problems
  • The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • An understanding of transport, drivers’ hours or compliance would be beneficial, but training can be provided
  • Previous experience in logistics, transport, administration or customer service would be an advantage
  • Flexibility to work the required Tuesday–Saturday, 12:00–20:00 shift pattern following training
  • Have no more than 6 effective penalty points
  • No DG, DD or IN endorsements
