Job Description
The candidate will be working primarily alongside the Head of Operations, taking the lead in arranging inbound shipments from the EU to the UK and ensuring an efficient arrival into our bonded warehouse.
This will require pro-actively working with suppliers, warehouses, and clients and taking ownership of the total shipment process, ensuring the safe and timely transport of stock.

The candidate will also be co-ordinating outbound shipments and deliveries to clients and communicating updates to the sales team. This will involve working closely alongside the Sales and Finance teams to plan these key moments of client interaction, ensuring first class client service.
The candidate must be a team player, have a strong work ethic and be confident when approaching third-party suppliers and supply chain contacts to ensure tasks are fulfilled promptly.
The candidate will also work with the Buying team providing administrative support to our Buying Director and Senior Buyer. This will primarily involve purchase order creation and management, supplier liaison and certain parts of inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage inbound shipments to our UK warehouse, ensuring all stakeholders are kept updated in a timely manner
- Managing these inbound EU shipments strategically and cost-effectively
- Ensuring accurate and timely landing of stocks
- Ensuring deliveries and transfers are accurate and on-time
- Photos/ team requests/ other UK merchant queries

Key Skills / Knowledge
- Highly organised with an eye for attention to detail
- Pro-active, professional and timely communication skills
- Previous experience in international wine shipping is preferred, but not essential.
- Candidate must have good knowledge of Outlook, Excel and have used an inventory system before. VCIS knowledge would be a bonus.
- Knowledge of necessary import/customs documentation preferred – however this can be learnt on the job so is not essential.
- Team player, people person
- Desire to take ownership of tasks, multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Wine knowledge preferred but not essential. However a desire to learn about wine will be a strength.
