Description
The Logistics team is a fast-paced operational team responsible for the delivery, movement, setup, and breakdown of infrastructure, furniture, equipment, and site requirements throughout the calendar year.
The team manages the end-to-end logistics requirements for live events and activities, providing onsite support before, during, and after events. The role involves working closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver efficient, professional, and high-quality logistical solutions across the Silverstone estate.
To support the Logistics Supervisor and wider Venue Operations teams in the successful delivery of event setup, live event support, and breakdown activities across Silverstone.
This is a hands-on role with responsibility for the safe movement, storage, setup, and distribution of furniture, equipment, stock, and event infrastructure across the site.
The role will support a wide variety of activities, from setting out furniture and catering equipment for Conference & Banqueting events, building gazebos, and setting out gates for public events, to moving stock and equipment around the circuit.
The Logistics Assistant will help maintain the appearance, presentation, and operational readiness of the venue, delivering a professional and responsive service to internal teams, clients, event partners, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the setup and breakdown of all events as directed
- Safely move, distribute, and position furniture, catering equipment, event infrastructure, stock, and other assets across the Silverstone estate.
- Ensure the correct equipment and inventory is delivered and set up at the correct location and within the required timescales.
- Assist with the delivery of live event operations and respond to logistical requirements throughout events.
- Ensuring both front & back of house areas are kept clean and tidy, to the highest standard, always, including storage areas.
- Complete allocated daily tasks to the required standard and ensure these are signed off by the relevant supervisor where required.
- Maintain front and back of house areas, storage areas, and operational spaces to a clean, safe, and presentable standard
- Support the Logistics Supervisor with maintaining accurate site asset and equipment inventories.
- Ensuring all equipment both internal & external is accounted for, maintained to a high quality, stored suitably, and taken care of.
- Ensure all external hire equipment is inspected on receipt by the department and on collection, reporting any issues to the Supervisor.
- Report equipment failures, damage, loss, or missing assets promptly.
- Assist with the safe loading and unloading of internal and external deliveries using the correct equipment and working practices.
- Operate company vehicles and other approved equipment to move and position stock, goods, and assets safely around the site.
- Follow all relevant Risk Assessments, Method Statements, safe systems of work, and site instructions.
- Support other Venue Operations teams where required to ensure the successful delivery of events and activities.
- Identify and communicate potential logistical issues and contribute to practical, solution-focused resolutions

- Third-party venue users, suppliers, and contractors.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Previous experience in a logistics, events, facilities, or similar operational role is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach to work.
- Ability and willingness to undertake regular lifting, carrying, and movement of equipment and inventory.
- Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of work delivered.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Proactive and solution-focused, with a positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
- Polite, professional, and empathetic approach when dealing with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and extended event periods.
- Full clean UK driving license.
- Forklift and/or Telehandler qualification desirable.
- Class 2 HGV license desirable.
- Manual Handling certificate desirable
- Willingness to undertake additional training and qualifications relevant to the role.
