Job Summary:

The Logistics Automation and Analytics Specialist is responsible for developing artificial intelligence, automation, and analytics solutions that support workforce accommodation, transportation, and logistics planning across Bechtel projects globally. This position partners with Global Workforce Services (GWS) subject matter experts to convert established business processes and study methodologies into repeatable, AI-enabled workflows. These capabilities will accelerate the development of Accommodation Studies, Transportation Studies, workforce mobility and trafficability assessments, market analyses, and executive decision-support products while improving consistency, source traceability, and analytical rigor. The position is based in Reston, Virginia, and may require periodic domestic and international travel to support solution development, implementation, validation, and training.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Leads the design, development, deployment, and governance of AI-enabled solutions supporting Workforce Services business processes.
  • Develops AI agents, automated workflows, analytical models, and digital research solutions for accommodation, transportation, workforce mobility, trafficability, and logistics studies.
  • Converts established study methodologies and business requirements into scalable, repeatable, and governed technical solutions.
  • Integrates authorized internal and external data sources to support research, market analysis, forecasting, calculations, risk identification, alternatives evaluation, and report generation.
  • Develops standardized prompts, data models, decision frameworks, templates, dashboards, geospatial analyses, and reporting tools.
  • Implements controls that identify unsupported conclusions, unreliable or outdated sources, data inconsistencies, calculation errors, and information requiring subject matter expert validation.
  • Configures knowledge-grounding and retrieval methods that enable AI solutions to use approved standards, procedures, project information, and trusted external sources.
  • Establishes human-review and approval points and ensures outputs clearly distinguish verified facts, calculations, assumptions, data gaps, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Maintains solution architecture documentation, source code, prompt libraries, testing records, technical standards, user guidance, and change histories.
  • Evaluates emerging AI, automation, data, and geospatial technologies for potential Workforce Services applications.
  • Partners with Information Systems and Technology, cybersecurity, data governance, legal, and other stakeholders to meet company requirements for information protection, privacy, records management, and Responsible AI.
  • Provides technical leadership, training, and support to authorized users of AI-enabled Workforce Services solutions.
  • Supports broader Workforce Services, GWS, Labor Relations, and digital-transformation initiatives.
  • Manages multiple concurrent automation initiatives, analytical studies, and project-support activities across a global portfolio.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience architecting, developing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise AI agents, intelligent automation solutions, or advanced analytical applications.
  • Experience with large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, semantic search, vector databases, document intelligence, knowledge grounding, agent orchestration, and context management.
  • Experience integrating AI agents with APIs, databases, enterprise repositories, business rules, automated workflows, and human approval processes.
  • Proficiency in Python, with working knowledge of SQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with software architecture, data pipelines, structured and unstructured data, system integration, authentication, access controls, and enterprise information management.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Copilot Studio, Azure AI, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, SharePoint, Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft Graph.
  • Experience establishing AI evaluation methods for accuracy, source grounding, repeatability, completeness, calculation integrity, and unsupported outputs.
  • Knowledge of Responsible AI, cybersecurity, data privacy, intellectual property, records management, auditability, and solution governance.
  • Experience with source control, SDLC practices, test planning, release management, technical documentation, and change control.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements and subject matter expertise into scalable architectures, data models, workflows, and quality controls.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and development efforts across a global project portfolio.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as an AI Solution Architect, Automation Architect, Data Architect, Machine Learning Engineer, or equivalent technical lead.
  • Experience developing AI and analytics solutions for engineering, procurement, construction, logistics, workforce planning, project controls, or major capital projects.
  • Experience supporting accommodation studies, transportation studies, market assessments, workforce mobility analyses, trafficability assessments, or logistics feasibility studies.
  • Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, Microsoft Fabric, Dataverse, Copilot Studio, and Microsoft Graph.
  • Experience with GIS, geospatial analysis, travel-time modeling, route optimization, transportation analytics, or location intelligence.
  • Experience automating structured Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, or similar executive decision-support deliverables.
  • Familiarity with workforce accommodation, Workforce Hubs, contracted bussing, parking strategies, site access, workforce transportation, and industrial construction logistics.
  • Experience supporting proposals, front-end planning, mobilization, or project execution planning.
