Logistics Coordinator

VPG - Part of Zoetis | Home Based | 6-Month Contract Maternity Cover

Keep our diagnostics moving. Make a difference to animal health.

At VPG, part of Zoetis, we provide veterinary diagnostic services that help veterinary professionals make informed decisions and deliver the best possible care for animals.

We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join our team on a 6-month contract. This is a key coordination role, responsible for making sure pathology samples move safely, reliably and on time from customers to the right laboratory across the UK.

Behind every sample is a customer who needs a reliable service and, ultimately, an animal that needs the right care. Your role will be critical in making sure the logistics operation runs smoothly every day.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will coordinate the day-to-day logistics operation, working closely with drivers, subcontractors, customers, and laboratory teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing driver rotas and ensuring appropriate daily operational coverage.
  • Coordinating customer sample collections and deliveries to the relevant laboratory within agreed timeframes.
  • Responding to collection queries and investigating service issues, ensuring customers, drivers, and laboratories receive clear and timely updates.
  • Coordinating subcontractor and courier coverage to maintain a reliable service.
  • Arranging hire cars and supporting other operational requirements as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate information in our CRM and People systems, including holiday and sickness records.
  • Supporting driver licence checks and maintaining vehicle insurance and fuel records.
  • Monitoring and maintaining accurate operational records to support safe and compliant logistics operations.
  • Working closely with the Logistics Manager to identify opportunities to improve processes and the customer experience.
  • Supporting other operational activities and duties as required.

What we're looking for

We're looking for an organised and proactive individual who enjoys coordinating multiple priorities and keeping things moving.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience in logistics, transport, operations, or administration.
  • Experience coordinating drivers, couriers, subcontractors, or time-sensitive collections.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when maintaining records and operational information.
  • Confidence communicating with customers and colleagues by telephone and email.
  • The ability to work independently while remaining a strong team player.
  • An understanding of the importance of safe and legally compliant logistics operations.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to escalate issues when appropriate.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
