COMPANY OVERVIEW Mallatite Limited is a specialist manufacturer of lighting & traffic support structures, passive products, traffic signs & equipment and LED message signs, and sits within the roads division of Hill & Smith Holdings Plc.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR An organised, driven Logistics Coordinator who will be responsible for all aspects of the Logistics operation; from planning and execution, to monitoring and improvement. The role will also ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods, managing inventory, transportation, warehousing, goods-in, goods-out, and distribution to meet our customer’s needs.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepare base line current and next (+1) week order dispatch and materials delivery plan as a minimum
- Identifying opportunities to expedite deliveries to maximise outgoing loads with effective and cost-efficient load planning, reduce empty mileage, improve efficiency, and increase revenue through effective planning and backloads
- Manage transportation networks, negotiate contracts with carriers, and ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods
- Key stakeholder management, working with internal teams (e.g., production, sales, procurement) and external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, carriers, customers) to ensure smooth logistics operations
- Working with the HSEQ Lead to ensure all areas of the Logistics Operation comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and that any areas of concern are raised and reported immediately
- Support the Senior Leadership Team to achieve the Strategic Plan by ensuring orders are processed accurately and efficiently, from order receipt to shipment delivery
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics operations, analyse data to identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions
- Report on delivery cost vs charge for each vehicle, showing a breakdown of daily, weekly, monthly figures
- Identify and resolve logistics issues, implement process improvements, and continuously seek ways to optimise operations
- Any other reasonable duties within your skills remit to support the operational duties of the department or company

QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Demonstrable experience within manufacturing logistics
- CPC Licence preferable, but not essential
- FLT Licence preferred, but not essential
- Proven experience in transport planning or transport operations (UK coverage)
- Excellent working knowledge of Sage 200 and Microsoft Excel
- Relationship management, both internally and externally, with the ability to negotiate
- Able to analyse and interpret data to provide meaningful insights to inform decision-making
