Logistics Coordinator

Newport

Salary: £32,000 + Annual Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Yolk Recruitment is supporting a leading global manufacturing organisation with the recruitment of a Logistics Coordinator to join their Supply Chain team based in Newport.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Logistics, Transport or Supply Chain professional to join a busy manufacturing environment, coordinating customer orders and deliveries across the UK and internationally. You'll work closely with hauliers, Production, Warehouse and Customer Service teams to ensure orders are dispatched accurately and on time. You'll also take ownership of delivery issues and delays, keeping customers informed and working quickly to resolve problems. This role would suit someone highly organised, confident communicating with customers and suppliers, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

This is what you'll be doing

As Logistics Coordinator, you'll support the day-to-day movement of customer orders from the Newport manufacturing site, working closely with Customer Service, Production, Warehouse, Quality and external transport providers to ensure orders are processed and dispatched safely, efficiently and on time.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing customer orders received through SAP, ensuring shipping and logistics requirements are progressed accurately and within required timescales.
  • Coordinating the movement of bulk and packaged products to customers and stock locations across the UK and internationally.
  • Liaising with Customer Service teams to ensure orders can be processed efficiently and customers receive accurate information regarding their deliveries.
  • Managing external carriers and hauliers, coordinating collections and deliveries while considering service requirements and the most cost-effective transport options.
  • Maintaining regular communication with drivers, carriers and customers, providing updates and responding to delivery-related enquiries.
  • Proactively managing late orders, delivery delays and other logistics issues, investigating problems and coordinating with relevant teams to achieve an effective resolution.
  • Handling customer queries and complaints professionally, taking ownership of issues and ensuring customers are kept informed throughout the resolution process.
  • Liaising closely with Production and Warehouse teams to ensure goods are available and ready for collection within required timescales.
  • Working with Quality to ensure required Certificates of Analysis (COAs) are available to support timely dispatch.
  • Coordinating dispatch requirements that fall outside standard SAP processes, ensuring these are managed efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate order and shipment information across relevant systems and ensuring required processes are completed in line with business requirements.
  • Supporting continuous improvement activity across Logistics, Warehouse, Production and Quality to improve safety, efficiency and service quality.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
