Job Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity to lead logistics coordination for a major customer account, primarily managing high-volume container shipments from GB to the Middle East, as well as movements to the US, Australia, and Asia. The role focuses on freight forwarding activities, predominantly sea freight with some air freight, ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery and exceptional service.
You will act as the key liaison between suppliers, carriers, and internal teams, managing international transport flows and documentation while maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Logistics Coordination
- Manage international shipments (sea and air) with freight forwarders and carriers
- Book shipments, schedule deliveries, and prepare all required shipping documents (invoices, packing lists, customs paperwork)
- Monitor container movements and proactively resolve delays or issues
- Track and report logistics performance metrics

Communication and Collaboration
- Act as the main point of contact for freight forwarders and carriers
- Provide clear updates on shipment status and transport issues to internal teams and custom
- Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations

Data Analysis and Reporting
- Generate reports on shipment performance and cost efficiency
- Maintain accurate records of all logistics transactions

Inventory Management
- Support stock accuracy through remote audits and cycle counts
- Assist with inventory control procedures as required
Person Specification
- Background in freight forwarding or international logistics, with hands-on experience in sea freight and some air freight
- Strong understanding of Incoterms, transport flows, and international shipping processes
- Operational, hands-on mindset with ownership of shipments and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with ERP systems (Business Central/Navision/SAP preferred but not essential)

- Please note this is a Hybrid role (3 days in-office) based out of Windsor, Berkshire.
