LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination and administration of all site logistics activities associated with the delivery of major infrastructure projects, including the Foul Treatment Plant (FTP), Potable Water Plant (PWP) and associated civil, mechanical and electrical works.
The role supports the efficient movement of personnel, plant, equipment and materials to ensure construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project programme requirements. Working within a highly regulated construction environment, the Logistics Coordinator will liaise with internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors and client representatives to maintain effective control of site access, deliveries, storage areas and material movements.
The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in supporting project productivity by ensuring logistics operations are planned, communicated and executed in a safe and organised manner.
The role briefly encompasses the following duties but is not limited to:
- Coordinating site logistics, material movements, delivery schedules and site access requirements to support efficient project delivery.
- Managing logistics records, tracking systems and reporting to ensure accurate monitoring of deliveries, resources and performance.
- Supporting construction teams with logistics planning, resource coordination and operational site requirements.
- Coordinating the movement and storage of materials, plant and equipment while maintaining effective inventory and laydown area management.
- Managing interfaces between suppliers, subcontractors, transport providers and project teams to ensure smooth site operations.
- Supporting workforce, visitor and vehicle access arrangements in line with site security and safety procedures.
- Monitoring logistics performance, identifying constraints and resolving delivery, access or resource-related issues.
- Supporting compliance with health, safety, security and project governance requirements.
- Producing logistics reports, KPI data and performance metrics to support project management decision-making.
- Maintaining accurate project documentation and supporting audits, inspections and assurance activities.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/attributes:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics, with strong Microsoft Office and reporting skills and a full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience in a logistics, construction, supply chain or site coordination role, ideally within major infrastructure or construction projects.
- Proven experience coordinating deliveries, plant, materials, suppliers and subcontractors in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong knowledge of logistics planning, delivery scheduling, materials management, site access processes and record management.
- Excellent organisational, administrative and data management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple project disciplines.
- Ability to prioritise workloads, solve problems proactively and work effectively under pressure to meet project deadlines.
- Strong reporting and analytical skills, including monitoring KPIs, logistics performance and project records.
- Team-oriented, self-motivated and proactive approach with a commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
- Desirable: CSCS Card, SMSTS/SSSTS, CPCS or NPORS qualifications, logistics or supply chain qualifications, and experience within regulated sectors such as nuclear, utilities, energy, water or major infrastructure projects.
