Logistics & Freight Manager

Location: Central London (office based), with occasional supplier visits

Salary Range: £50-60k

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

The Logistics & Freight Manager owns every inbound and outbound shipment for Nokwol, from factory pick-up to booked-in stock on the warehouse shelf. Nokwol drops new product every week, so the job is simple to state: get the right stock landed, cleared and sellable as fast as possible, with no surprises.

The role covers Nokwol own-brand product and third-party brands bought in for resale. It runs a mixed model: urgent air freight for launches and fast sellers, and sea freight for core essentials and replenishment.

Purpose of the Role

  • Be the single point of control for all origin freight, with live visibility of every PO from pick-up to receipt
  • Cut the time from factory to sellable stock, week after week
  • Run UK import and EU freight to best-in-class speed and full compliance
  • Manage UK export shipments and warehouse stock consolidation so stock sits where it sells

Key Responsibilities

  • Origin freight control (Nokwol and third-party brands)
  • Tracking and expediting, end to end
  • UK import and customs
  • UK export shipments
  • Warehouse consolidation and stock positioning
  • Suppliers, cost and continuous improvement

Essential Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • 3-5+ years in freight, logistics or supply chain, ideally in fashion, footwear or fast-moving retail with weekly drops
  • Hands-on management of air and sea freight (FCL, LCL, consolidated air and express), from origin booking to delivery
  • Strong working knowledge of UK import procedure: the Customs Declaration Service (CDS), commodity codes, rules of origin, customs valuation, duty and import VAT, deferment accounts and postponed VAT accounting
  • Clear understanding of post-Brexit EU trade: EORI, UK-EU rules of origin under the Trade and Cooperation Agreement, EU customs, IOSS and DDP for B2C
  • UK export procedure, export declarations and proof of export
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms (EXW, FOB, FCA, DAP, DDP) and when each one is right
  • Experience managing forwarders, brokers and hauliers and pushing them for results
  • Confident with an ERP or tracking system (Fulfil ERP is a plus) and strong in Excel or Google Sheets

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Best-in-class import speed: what the candidate must know

The right person knows exactly what is possible and how to get there:

  • Pre-lodged declarations: customs entries submitted before goods land, so air freight can clear on arrival and go straight to the warehouse
  • Simplified procedures: Customs Freight Simplified Procedures (CFSP) and Entry in the Declarant's Records (EIDR) to move goods before a full declaration
  • Trusted-trader status: Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) and its benefits for fewer checks and faster release
  • Direct delivery: airside or near-airport clearance with same-day haulage to the warehouse, and port-to-warehouse delivery with pre-booked slots for sea freight
  • Pre-alerts and documents: full, correct paperwork before departure, so there are no holds for missing or wrong documents
  • Duty and VAT tools: duty deferment and postponed VAT accounting, so payment never holds up release
  • Duty relief options: customs warehousing, inward processing and returned goods relief, where they suit re-export or EU stock
