Salary range: £40,655 – £42,500 (depending on experience)

Our projects span infrastructure, road, rail, energy, housing, commercial and utilities developments, offering the opportunity to work across a wide range of archaeological periods, from the Neolithic through to the post-medieval.
Role
We are recruiting for a Logistics Manager, based in either our London or Milton Keynes office.
This is a key operational role supporting our fieldwork teams nationally, with a particular focus on our largest and most complex infrastructure projects. You will play an important part in ensuring that projects are properly planned, resourced and coordinated, helping to maintain safe, efficient and reliable project delivery.
The role would suit someone with experience in logistics, construction, infrastructure or archaeological project delivery who enjoys solving practical problems and coordinating people, resources and activities across complex projects.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Planning and coordinating project logistics, working closely with project teams, contractors and other operational stakeholders;
- Coordinating site logistics, access and delivery arrangements across project activities;
- Identifying and resolving logistical constraints, risks and interfaces that could affect programme delivery or operational continuity;
- Supporting improvements to project efficiency, productivity and delivery reliability through proactive planning and coordination;
- Supporting the safe, predictable and efficient delivery of works across multiple projects;
- Assisting with site access assessments;
- Coordinating temporary works and associated requirements;
- Liaising with third-party dependencies, including utilities and statutory undertakers;
- Liaising with, procuring and coordinating plant and supply chain requirements, while maintaining appropriate supplier and competency records; and
- Assisting with health and safety audits and other operational requirements, with training provided where required.

You will be a proactive and organised individual who is comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with a range of project teams and stakeholders. As the role supports projects nationally, some travel and working away from home will be required.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience of planning and coordinating site logistics and access management, ideally on major infrastructure or construction projects;
- A good understanding of construction, infrastructure or archaeological project delivery and contractor coordination;
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities;
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of programme delivery and project performance;
- A proactive and practical approach to identifying and resolving problems;
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities while contributing positively as part of a wider team;
- A relevant degree-level qualification or equivalent experience; and
- SMSTS or an equivalent qualification, although this is preferred rather than essential.

We welcome applications from candidates with relevant experience outside archaeology. Previous archaeological experience is not essential, and we will provide support to develop an understanding of archaeological project delivery.
