Tracker Recruitment has been exclusively retained by a well-established international food manufacturer to appoint a Logistics Manager to a key UK operation.
This is not a routine transport or warehouse management position. It is a broad leadership role with responsibility for a complex international logistics operation, significant third-party relationships and an experienced team.
The successful candidate will combine strong operational control with the ability to improve performance, develop people and help shape the organisation’s longer-term logistics and warehousing strategy.
The opportunity
You will take responsibility for a varied logistics operation covering imported raw materials, external storage, UK distribution, customer service and third-party logistics providers.
Working closely with colleagues across manufacturing, planning, forecasting, S&OP, commercial, finance, procurement and technical functions, you will ensure that logistics activity remains aligned with production requirements and customer demand.
The role offers genuine scope to challenge established practices and introduce a more structured, commercially focused approach. You will be expected to remain close to day-to-day operations while also identifying opportunities to improve service, cost, capacity and resilience.

Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Leading and developing an established logistics team
- Managing international inbound and UK outbound logistics
- Overseeing external warehousing and logistics partners
- Improving service levels, cost control and operational performance
- Supporting forecasting, planning and S&OP activity
- Building effective relationships across manufacturing and commercial functions
- Strengthening processes, reporting and performance measures
- Supporting customs and international trade requirements
- Reviewing future warehousing, transport and network requirements
- Contributing to wider business improvement and transformation projects
About you
We are interested in speaking with logistics and supply chain leaders who have worked within food, beverage, FMCG, manufacturing or another complex, service-critical environment.
You are likely to offer:
- Broad logistics management experience covering transport, warehousing and 3PL relationships
- Experience leading and developing an established team
- A strong understanding of operational cost and service performance
- The ability to work across planning, manufacturing and customer-facing functions
- Experience delivering change and improving established operations
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and external providers
- A practical leadership style with the ability to operate strategically
- Experience of international inbound logistics, customs or imported materials would be beneficial

This position would suit an experienced Logistics Manager, Senior Logistics Manager or broader Supply Chain Manager who remains close to physical logistics operations.
The role is based in Greater London and requires regular on-site presence. The package is flexible and will reflect the experience and calibre of the successful candidate.
