Role Description

The Logistics Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom, with flexibility for some work from home. This role oversees daily logistics operations, including planning and coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, optimizing transportation routes, and managing relationships with carriers and third-party logistics providers. The Logistics Manager ensures accurate inventory flows, supports procurement with timely material availability, and aligns logistics activities with broader supply chain strategies. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring performance metrics, resolving delivery issues, collaborating with manufacturing and customer service teams, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The role also involves maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and company policies while supporting a safe, organized, and data-driven logistics environment.

  • Strong Logistics Management and Supply Chain Management skills, with experience coordinating transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
  • Proficiency in Inventory Management and Procurement processes, including demand planning, stock control, and supplier coordination.
  • Customer Service skills focused on reliable communication, issue resolution, and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience using logistics or ERP software, data analysis tools, and Excel to track performance, forecast needs, and support decision-making.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Relevant experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors; prior leadership or team coordination experience is beneficial.
  • Formal education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
