Logistics Manager
A global developer, designer, builder, and operator of solar and hybrid power systems is looking for a Logistics Manager to join its team in London.
In this role, you will be the central logistics point of contact between Engineering, Procurement, Accounting, Project Management, suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, inspection agencies, clients, and site teams. You'll coordinate shipments across multiple projects, countries, and time zones, making sure every delivery arrives safely, compliantly, cost-effectively, and on time. When something threatens a delivery date, you'll be the one who spots it early, challenges it, and keeps the project on track.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full logistics process, from supplier readiness and PO/BOM alignment through collection, air, sea, and road freight, customs clearance, site delivery, and final documentation.
- Coordinate collections, consolidations, and deliveries against contractual and project dates, challenging delays or outstanding actions in other departments before they affect delivery.
- Support purchase orders and freight procurement: obtain and benchmark freight quotations, challenge excessive costs, and reduce spend through consolidation and alternative transport solutions.
- Manage and onboard suppliers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers, building strong working relationships.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation (invoices, packing lists, Certificates of Origin, Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, manifests, waivers, and country-specific documents), ensuring it matches POs, BOMs, and shipment contents.
- Facilitate customs clearance and Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSI) with accurate, complete documentation.
- Keep trackers and change/delay logs up to date, so stakeholders always have a clear, accurate view of where every shipment stands.
- Anticipate and mitigate risks such as port congestion, transhipment, adverse weather, customs delays, limited transport availability, and specialist vehicle needs.
- Keep delivery records organised and accessible, from delivery notes and proof of delivery to photographs and inspection reports.
- Develop logistics procedures, templates, and document-control processes that improve efficiency, visibility, and communication.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
