Logistics Manager
Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a global leader in cutting-edge automotive electronics manufacturing with the appointment of an experienced Logistics Manager to join their team on a fixed-term contract.
Overall Purpose
Reporting to the Plant Director, the logistics manager will define, operate, and expand the Logistics concepts and processes, to optimise performance and meet the quality, cost, and delivery targets. Ensure health and safety objectives are met. Manage the resources to meet all the strategic objectives in the plan. To keep abreast of logistics technology and apply improvements for the reliable and cost-effective running of the function.
Key Duties
- Supervision and control of material and SAP warehouse management.
- The analysis and improvement of all internal plant Logistics processes.
- Maintenance of strong 5s disciplines.
- Planning and management of Logistics resource.
- To analyse root cause of supplier shortages and report to management meeting lessons learnt for future APQP.
- Create and implement schedules for maximum manufacturing effectiveness and least cost of stockholding.
- Review Customer production plans and liaise cross functionally on receipt of updates.
- Create and maintain appropriate measures of supplier delivery performance and implement improvements.
- Develop a strong relationship with the customer MP&L Team including regular reviews.
- To maintain discipline in the area of control.

The job holder is expected to approach the job in a flexible and progressive manner and undertake those tasks necessary to develop the department and its function in meeting the Company’s present and future needs.
As a member of the Management Committee, to contribute to the formulation of the Company’s strategy and business plans.
To control, counsel, guide, and develop all subordinates to realise their full potential and make an effective contribution to the operation of the business.
To assist in the preparation of budgets and the setting of operating targets and to operate within agreed budget limits.
Preparation and presentation of concise progress reports to senior management and customers.

Ensure all statutory and in-house requirements are observed within the job holder's area of control and in accordance with the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Policy.
To carry out appraisals, at least annually, on the performance of department members.

Key Requirements
- 5 years vocational experience.
- HNC/Degree qualified or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in automotive logistics is essential.
- Supervisory experience of multiple reports.
- SAP.
- Managing and developing suppliers.
- Managing customer relationships.
The Package
- Extremely competitive salary on offer, depending on experience.
- Initial 3 month FTC, with potential to be extended.
- Monday-Thursday 8:00AM-4:30pm, Friday 8:00AM-1:00PM.
- On site parking.
- 27 days holiday (Pro-rata).
