Logistics Manager - Utilita Arena, Birmingham | Full-Time / Permanent
£39,294 per annum - Plus excellent benefits including healthcare, wellbeing support, 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, life assurance, meals on duty, and more.
Role Purpose
The overall purpose of the role of a Logistics Manager is to lead and coordinate the end-to-end logistics operation across Utilita Arena Birmingham and BP Pulse Live, ensuring the right products, stock and equipment are available in the right place, at the right time and in the right quantity. The role will provide dedicated ownership of stock management, ordering, deliveries, storage, transfers and event replenishment, strengthening controls while supporting commercial performance, operational readiness and an excellent guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Management & Control
- Own stock management across both arenas, maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring availability is aligned to event demand.
- Set and review appropriate stock holding and par levels, balancing product availability with the need to reduce excess and at-risk stock.
- Lead stock counts, reconciliation and variance investigation, identifying trends and implementing corrective action.
- Manage stock rotation, expiry dates, waste, breakages and inter-venue transfers to protect margin and reduce unnecessary loss.
- Maintain clear controls and audit trails for stock movements, returns, write-offs and adjustments.
Ordering & Supply
- Own ordering across both arenas, using attendance, event type, demographic, forecast spend per head and historic trading data to inform requirements.
- Tailor orders to individual event profiles, reducing speculative ordering, unnecessary stock holding and working capital tied up in inventory.
- Coordinate supplier deliveries, shortages, substitutions and event-specific requirements, escalating risks early.
- Work closely with Retail, Premium and Culinary teams to ensure product requirements are understood and ordered in line with the event plan.
Event Logistics & Readiness
- Develop event-by-event logistics and replenishment plans across both arenas.
- Ensure Retail, Premium and relevant back-of-house areas are appropriately stocked and operationally ready ahead of doors opening.
- Plan and coordinate live-event replenishment, responding to sales performance and changes in demand throughout the event.
- Coordinate stock, equipment and consumables between storage areas, outlets and venues.
- Lead post-event stock returns, consolidation and reconciliation, capturing learning for future events.
Commercial Performance
- Use stock and sales information to improve gross profit, reduce waste and positively impact overall contribution.
- Identify slow-moving, excess or at-risk stock and work with operational teams to sell through or redistribute it.
- Improve product availability and minimise lost sales caused by stock-outs or ineffective replenishment.
- Provide insight into ordering patterns, stock usage and variances to support forecasting and future event planning.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
