Job Description/Responsibilities

The Logistics Manager will work within the UK & Ireland Operations team based in Kingston Upon Thames, London. The role is Hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office or traveling. Travel will be frequently required to our warehouses and the UK & Ireland.

The logistics team is responsible for the end-to-end flow of goods from production sites to customers warehouses by holding freight providers and 3PL providers to account for their performance. Performance is closely tracked and corrective actions quickly implemented where required.

This role works closely with our customer service team, planning team, sales teams, third party logistics providers, global freight providers and over 200 customers to achieve our objectives. As logistics manager you will play a key role to the development of operational processes and systems as we position ourselves for continued significant growth.

Key Responsibilities:

3PL Performance:

  • Oversee day-to-day activity of UK & Ireland 3PL partners. Regular visits to 3PL warehouses.
  • Provide internal weekly and monthly service reporting information. Weekly and monthly meetings held with 3PL’s on their performance and ownership of corrective actions.
  • Ensure freight providers and 3PL goods in are aligned to deliver problem free goods in, capacity and performance exceed Sazerac needs.
  • Support operational efficiencies to allow optimal efficiency, handling reduced through goods arriving ready for storage and onwards customer delivery.
  • Support smooth integration of our ERP system (oracle) with no impact to 3PL operation.

Freight:

  • Analyse freight performance, reviewing transit times against contracted transit times. Publish monthly data showing trends by carrier.
  • Own the relationship between Sazerac UK & Ireland and the respective freight providers. Carry out monthly reviews with freight providers to root cause delays and actively drive improvement.
  • Execute transportation strategies aligned with global logistics team that improve service levels and reduce transit time. Engagement in freight tender process ensuring UK & Irelands needs is front of mind.
  • Working with demand & supply planning team to own long term forecasts in freight requirements.
  • Aligning with carriers and customs agents to ensure paperwork / declarations are always in order. Owning the integration of freight of partners with Sazerac requirements.

Domestic transport performance & efficiency:

  • Ensure customer orders are delivered On Time & In Full, holding 3PL providers to account. Service of 99% is achieved.
  • Own data on customer MOQ’s to identify opportunities to increase minimum order quantities for the most efficient ordering for Sazerac and customers.
  • Ensure 3PL transport planning is aligned to customer specific requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Logistics Manager in the FMCG industry, operating at a similar level of responsibility and scope.
  • High level of capability in this field including 3PL operations, domestic transport and global freight.
  • Proactive problem solver with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and multitasking skills, both internally and with external providers.
  • Strong understanding of operational KPI’s and how driver performance against these with operational partners.
  • Forward thinking, able to manage multiple tasks while remaining focused on modernising, automating and making our processes best in class.
