Role Description
The Logistics Managing Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Nottingham, responsible for leading and growing logistics operations and commercial performance. The role oversees end-to-end logistics strategy, including warehousing, transport, and e-fulfilment, ensuring optimal capacity utilization, service quality, and cost efficiency.

- Setting operational targets

This role also involves:
- Collaborating with executive stakeholders
- Managing budgets and investment decisions
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety, legal, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in logistics, warehousing, transport, or 3PL operations, including responsibility for multi-site or large-scale environments.
- Strong strategic and commercial skills, including contract negotiation, P&L management, pricing, and developing growth plans for logistics or fulfilment services.
- Expertise in supply chain and e-fulfilment optimization, covering capacity planning, inventory management, process improvement, and KPI-driven performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior-level client and partner relationships, with excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Track record of leading high-performing teams, fostering an inclusive culture, and driving change and transformation projects within logistics or operations.
- Solid understanding of relevant compliance, health and safety standards, and regulatory requirements in logistics and warehousing environments.
- Relevant academic background such as a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CILT, APICS) are an advantage.
- Comfort with data-driven decision-making, including use of logistics IT systems, WMS/TMS platforms, and analytical tools to inform strategy and operations.
