Role Description
The Logistics Managing Director will lead the logistics and e-fulfilment strategy for REM Associates’ clients and internal initiatives, ensuring efficient, scalable, and commercially sound operations. This full-time, on-site role, based in Guildford, involves overseeing end-to-end logistics performance, including warehouse utilisation, transport efficiency, and 3PL partnerships. The position includes setting operational targets, monitoring KPIs, and driving continuous improvement across fulfilment, inventory management, and service delivery. The Logistics Managing Director will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders, advise clients on logistics transformation, and support business development by identifying new commercial opportunities and capacity expansion. The role also includes leading and mentoring teams, managing key supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

- Strong leadership experience in logistics, supply chain, or 3PL operations, with a track record of managing multi-site or high-volume environments.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute logistics strategies, including warehouse optimisation, transport planning, and e-fulfilment solutions.
- Proficiency in data-driven decision-making, including use of KPIs, operational metrics, and performance dashboards to improve efficiency and service quality.
- Experience in commercial management, such as contract negotiation, customer relationship management, and P&L responsibility within logistics or related sectors.
- Knowledge of logistics technologies and systems (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP) and familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with blue-chip clients, 3PL providers, and internal teams.
- Background in building and leading high-performing teams, including coaching, talent development, and succession planning.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field; advanced qualifications are an advantage.
- Understanding of UK and international logistics regulations, health and safety standards, and compliance requirements.
